Our Story
What is Cahava?
Cahava, meaning "proverb" in Urdu/Hindi, is a quaterly literary journal published in English.

When was Cahava launched? Cahava was established in late 2024. We are currently accepting submissions for our inaugural issue - schedule to be released in the fall of 2025. For full details and submission guidelines, please visit:

Who runs Cahava? It takes a team to bring each issue to fruition. The team is comprised of dedicated volunteers handling different parts of the process. We strive to ensure that the team is balanced and represents the diversity of our readers - not only equal representation of race, gender and social background but also experience in the publishing industry. While some members are veterans in the publishing space, we also ensure to maintain a balance of individuals from "outside the industry".
